Tiny Greenville, Fla. is largely known as the childhood home of Ray Charles. It's also just east of the state capital, Tallahassee, and that's why a low-powered TV station serving this hamlet is of interest to NewsNet's parent — which is agreeing to buy the facility from Jeff Winemiller.

It is the seat of Jackson County, Ky., and is situated to the far southeast of Lexington, due north of London. Here, a "Dandy" little deal has been consummated, and it sees the sale of a Class A FM at 107.9 MHz.

Eighteen months ago, Robert Jamrog sold his 50% ownership stake in a Toledo, Ohio, FM translator to his business partner. Now, she's agreed to sell the facility to a regional religious broadcasting organization in a transaction brokered by George Kimble.

Now, the South Carolina-based LLC has signed an agreement that will transfer control of three LPTVs in the Golden State to an entity led by the former KGO-7 reporter behind the creation of America's first-ever 24/7 South Asian-targeted television network.

Over the last two years, an entity led by Steven Lara has acquired a 1kw AM in Jasper, Ga., and its FM translator; a Myrtle Beach, S.C. property; and an AM with an FM translator located near Raleigh. Now, he's a buyer again, thanks to an agreement with Bill Shanks' group.

On December 14, 2023, a Houston-headquartered religious broadcasting ministry agreed to purchase a Class C3 FM serving a small Louisiana city to the north of Lake Charles. On Friday, that transaction closed, giving the KHCB Network entry into Bayou Country.

Nexstar Media Group today owns KSWB-TV, "FOX 5" in San Diego. But did you know there is another KSWB, a Class B AM with an FM translator serving a popular coastal getaway for those in the Portland, Ore., metropolitan area? Those radio offerings have just been sold.

A Class D AM with 1,000 watts during daylight hours and 27 watts at night from one tower is being sold to a local broadcasting company helmed by Robert Corlew.
