“I am 78 and it is time to smell the roses.” That’s what Dan Viles told RBR+TVBR in late January with the announcement that he’s selling his low-power TV station serving New York’s Capital Region and the Catskills. Now, the FCC has granted the transfer of control request associated with the deal.

Pittsburgh-based licensee Ron Bruno will now officially be adding WYBN-14 to his stable of low-powered television stations, with closing on the way shortly.

Viles’ Cable Ad Net New York Inc. is earning $125,000 in cash, along with other consideration he declined to discuss when first sharing the news with RBR+TVBR.

With Paul Feldman at Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth serving as legal counsel, “CANNY” is receiving a 10% downpayment from Bruno-led Foxwood Partners LLC.

Joan Stewart of Wiley Law served as Bruno’s legal representative to the Commission.

WYBN-14 uses a tower atop Windham Mountain to bring several digital multicast networks to the Albany-Schenectady-Troy DMA; it is also viewable in the far northern areas of the New York DMA.
