Cumulus Media's four-station group in Des Moines has a new VP/Market Manager, and he's in-bound from Steel City Media in Kansas City, where he was a senior marketing consultant.

The submission window is now open for the 2025 MIW & NAB Leadership Foundation LAUNCH Mentorship Program, described as a one-of-a-kind mentorship designed to cultivate emerging female talent in radio, with a focus on engineering, audio production, and technical operations.

The two-day curriculum focused on the specific needs of women in radio leadership as well as those aspiring to move into leadership positions. The program worked to enhance their overall knowledge and skills, starting with a virtual session on August 12 and continuing with in-person sessions on August 19-21.

Born in Houston, Garcia Stone worked for one of the early Spanish-language radio groups prior to industry consolidation, Tichenor Media System. Under Mac Tichenor Jr., Garcia Stone worked at both KLAT-AM and KLTN-FM in Houston for more than 13 years, starting in 1981. It was there where she met Gary Stone, marrying him.

The LABF has confirmed that NBC’s centennial milestone will be honored among this year’s distinguished Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts. LABF’s annual tribute recognizing "trailblazers and historic contributions" to the broadcasting industry will take place on November 14.
