MediaCo Holding Inc., the publicly traded parent of Estrella Media and heritage New York radio stations WBLS and WQHT “HOT 97,” is welcoming a new Director of Local and National Sales Development. His principal tasks including working closely with MediaCo’s Political Sales Team to strengthen the company’s position heading into the upcoming election cycle.
Taking the role is Victor Hugo Guzman. And like other key MediaCo leaders including President/CEO, he used to work at Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS). There, Guzman until January was a Senior Account Executive, rising from National Sales Manager for Puerto Rico. Before that, from August 2021 to July 2024 he was National Sales Manager of KRZZ “La Raza” in San Francisco.
“In his new role, he will focus on driving revenue growth across local and national accounts while working closely with MediaCo’s Political Sales Team to strengthen the company’s position heading into the upcoming election cycle,” MediaCo said in an announcement distributed on Monday.
Additionally, “in partnership with the political sales team, Guzman will help advance MediaCo’s offerings to campaigns, advocacy organizations, and issue-based advertisers, ensuring they leverage the company’s culturally connected platforms” to reach and mobilize key audiences effectively.
“Victor understands how to turn audience momentum into revenue opportunity,” said Rodriguez. “As we continue scaling our sales organization and deepening our relationships across both commercial and political categories, his experience and leadership will play an important role in expanding our impact nationally and locally.”
Guzman added, “MediaCo has quickly become one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing multicultural broadcast companies in the country. I couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead. In related news, Jason Corelli has joined MediaCo’s Sigma Audio Networks national radio arm as Sr. VP of Integrated Audio Sales, reporting to President/CEO Elisa Torres. He’s also a former SBS employee and served in a similar role as VP of Aire Audio Network until November 2018.
