NewsNation To Shift Vittert To ‘Dan Abrams Live’ Time Slot

In December 2024, Dan Abrams announced that he would conclude his three-year run as the host of Dan Abrams Live on Nexstar Media Group’s NewsNation MVPD-distributed news and political commentary channel.

Now, as Abrams prepares to take a new role at NewsNation, a program schedule tweak has been revealed.

Leland Vittert will take over the 9pm Eastern time slot effective February 10, with On Balance taking the timeframe that Abrams had been seen on, moving from 7pm Eastern.

This results in NewsNation moving Elizabeth Vargas Reports to the 7pm Eastern hour, from the 6pm Eastern hour.

“We’re extremely happy to be bringing Leland and Elizabeth to our primetime line-up,” said Michael Corn, NewsNation’s President of Programming and Specials. “They are extraordinary and experienced journalists who are fearless, smart, and curious. They have travelled the globe to deliver the news, and they have each developed a loyal and growing audience here at NewsNation.”

On Balance has been a part of the NewsNation lineup since 2021.

Ashleigh Banfield will continue to be seen at 10pm Eastern, while Chris Cuomo is at the helm for the 8pm Eastern/Pacific hour.
