Radio and Television Transactions

A transaction that sees Greg Guy of Patrick Communications serve as the broker has just closed. As such, the parent company of the MeTV Network is now the owner of a Class A low-power television station in Cleveland.

Dave Magnum and his Magnum Radio have an asset purchase agreement before the FCC that, if approved, will give it ownership of a FM and an FM translator in the Wisconsin city of Chippewa Falls.

It is the Chicago DMA home of "The LifeFM," a Greenville, S.C.-based Worship Music network. It may not be staying that way, as the owner and operator of the non-secular radio ministry is selling the property by trading it for an unbuilt facility licensed to the Indiana city of Kokomo.

One is a Class C3 FM serving Hannibal, Mo., from the west. The other FM is a Class B1 serving Hannibal from the east, along with Quincy, Ill. Both are being spun by Larry Bostwick, putting "The Oldies Superstation" in new hands.

On June 3, RBR+TVBR first reported on the sale of a pair of Class A FMs serving Mendocino County, Calif., with Amaturo Sonoma Media Group creating a cluster of five FMs and a heritage AM. Paperwork has now been filed with the FCC that offers details on how much the company is paying for the FM pair due north of the San Francisco Bay Area.

In early February, the Jeff Andrulonis-led Colonial Radio Group said farewell to an AM and three associated FM translators serving the Myrtle Beach, S.C., market. On Monday, the transaction closed, putting the facilities in the hands of an individual intent on serving Spanish-speaking listeners by debuting a regional Mexican format.

A commercially licensed FM offering Indiana listeners Christian-themed programming has decided to part ways with a 27-watt translator serving the town of Portage.

Nancy Epperson-led Delmarva Educational Association exactly one decade ago agreed to donate a Claremont, Va.-based AM serving the Norfolk market to a Spanish-language broadcast ministry. Now, DEA is acquiring a Hampton Roads AM — this time a Class D daytime-only 50kw facility using 4 towers that must be silenced at night to protect WBT-AM in Charlotte.

A Webster, Mass., AM and its FM translator are being spun. Just Because. Oh, that happens to be name of the selling party in this deal just filed with the FCC for its approval.

It's licensed for 3.3kw but is presently silent.  Soon, pending FCC approval, this FM will be under the operation of a new owner.

A former sound designer, audio producer and production director for Audacy Corp.'s Los Angeles station group who has served as President of Studio 1 Production has completed his company's acquisition of a group of radio stations serving Northeastern Nevada from the city of Elko.

The FCC has given its blessing to a deal that sees Scott Centers agree to take on ownership of a low-power television station licensed to Mesquite, Nev., a municipality within the Las Vegas DMA just over the state line from St. George, Utah.

The transaction, which involves the sale of low-power TV construction permits with a 2023 construction deadline, closed late last week. Serving as the exclusive broker in the deal is Robert Heymann of the Chicago office of Media Services Group.

Living Water Radio mainly uses a Class C2 facility at 89.3 MHz to reach listeners in Western Iowa and in Nebraska City, Neb. Until recently has also benefited from an FM translator licensed to Glenwater, Iowa. That mini-FM, presently silent, has just been sold.

It's a 2.5kw daytime-only AM that uses a four-tower array to reach Floresville, Tex., and communities to the southeast of the Alamo City. Now, this San Antonio DMA station that must sign off after dark to protect Talk KOKC-AM in Oklahoma City is being spun.
