Tomorrow, Mexico City will serve as the site of the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as the host, “El Tri,” takes on South Africa. Thanks to a just-signed deal, Fubo customers will be able to watch the match.
It is thanks to a new distribution agreement between FuboTV Inc. and NBCUniversal, allowing those who have a Fubo subscription to access Telemundo and NBC-aligned stations; MVPD-distributed cable channel Universo and the new NBC Sports Network (NBCSN); NBCU regional sports networks (in the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Northern California, and Philadelphia) and new FAST channels scheduled to launch in the coming weeks.
To access Telemundo, one need only have an English-language TV plan, Fubo says. For access to Universo, a Latino Plan or English-language Extra package is necessary.
Telemundo is the domestic Spanish-language rights holder for World Cup coverage; FOX holds the rights for the English-language broadcasts in the U.S.
