A Washington-based organization dedicated to encouraging forward looking entrepreneurs will host the Chairman Tom Wheeler in a discussion simply titled “The Future of Broadband.”
The organization is 177s, and its located in Washington a few blocks from the White House.
The event will be held Thursday 9/4/14 at 11AM. Co-founder Donna Harris will introduce the Chairman to those assembled.
In the “about us” section of its website, the organization states, “1776 is a platform to reinvent the world by connecting the hottest startups with the resources they need to excel. From our Campus a few blocks from the White House, 1776 serves as a global hub for startups tackling major challenges in education, energy, health care, government, and other critical industries. 1776 startups receive mentorship, corporate connections, access to capital, media attention, and a pipeline of top talent—the raw materials critical for innovators to succeed.”
RBR-TVBR observation: We hope, but do not expect, that Wheeler’s remarks will include lengthy observations about wireless broadband and free over-the-air TV peacefully co-existing in a limited amount of spectrum. And of course we don’t want to hear one peep about the need for even more television spectrum than the FCC is already going after.
