NEW YORK — It is a platform that began rolling out across CBS News and Stations in September and now includes CBS Media Ventures syndicated news magazines Entertainment Tonight and Inside Edition.

As of today, this venture, dubbed the “Super Desk,” has a new Managing Editor. It is a woman who has been with CBS Newspath for more than 14 years, beginning in 2009 as an associate producer.

Taking the role is Megan Tennyson, who reports to both CBS News and Stations EVP/Head of News Operations and Transformation Ross Dagan, and CBS Newspath GM and CBS Stations SVP/Operations Joel Goldberg.

CBS Newspath is a newsgathering service that provides content to more than 200 local television stations across the country, as well as select external domestic and international clients.

“We are excited to raise the curtain on the next phase of our Super Desk rollout, which now pairs technology with our people to create a central news desk for our entire division,” Dagan said. “The Super Desk will leverage technology to serve as the editorial and logistics hub for daily newsgathering and signature content and drive our levels of collaboration to new heights. It will allow us to seamlessly plan and share stories, respond more rapidly to breaking news, better maximize resources and help to ensure accuracy so we can elevate our ability to serve audiences across all of our platforms.”

Goldberg added, “As we create more bespoke content for shows, the Super Desk will help us fully leverage what we’re producing via increased usage and distribution. We are thrilled to be able to tap into Megan’s experience at CBS Newspath and her passion as we have her coordinate the enormous flow of content across the entire division. She has already played a pivotal role in helping more than 2,500 CBS News and Stations employees get up to speed, so bringing our CBS Media Ventures colleagues on board will be a natural extension of the outstanding work she’s been doing.”

Tennyson in 2011 was promoted to producer; in 2013 she was named senior producer – a position she held for eight-and-a-half years prior to being named managing editor in April 2022.
