The company may have its own audio streaming platform in LaMúsica.com, but that isn’t stopping Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) from making its 13 broadcast radio stations available across other streaming platforms, widening its availability.
As of today, the FMs the Miami-headquartered company owns in the mainland U.S. and in Puerto Rico can be accessed through the platform formerly known as Radio.com.
That’s the Audacy app, where streaming of such stations as WMEG “Mega 106.9” in San Juan and WSKQ-FM “Mega 97.9” in New York, one of the most-streamed over-the-air radio station in the U.S., can now be accessed.
“We are delighted to announce a new partnership with Spanish Broadcasting System, a leader in Spanish-language broadcasting,” said Tim Clarke, Senior Vice President of Digital Audio Content at Audacy. “This alliance reaffirms our commitment to delivering diverse, engaging and top-quality content to our listeners, and we look forward to leveraging our scale to give SBS’ audience a new platform to consume their favorite content while introducing their programming to existing Audacy app users.”
SBS President/COO Albert Rodriguez added, “We are excited to partner with Audacy and make our top-ranking Spanish Language stations available to millions of new users on the Audacy app. We believe this to be a win for both companies and more importantly to the U.S. Hispanic audience, which will be able to find our exclusive content on their preferred streaming platforms.”
SBS’s stations are also available on the TuneIn app, accessible following a 30-second pre-roll advertisement controlled by TuneIn and SBS’s own pre-roll ad. SBS stations are not available on the iHeartMedia platform.
