Want to connect to the $1.5 trillion-plus Black consumer market? The 23rd annual Power of Urban Radio Forum (PURF), scheduled for October 4-6 in Washington, D.C., offers the opportunity to learn, lead and lasso in some new advertisers.

This year’s event will be held at the Marriott in Georgetown, and is hosted by Kizart Media Partners (KMP) and the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB).

The Keynote Speaker is General Motors‘ Director of Diversity Marketing, Tarnesha
Armstrong; she will accept the 2023 Marc Pritchard Corporate Impact Award being given to GM this year. Pritchard, the Chief Brand Officer for Procter & Gamble Co., will be present and participating in sessions. Also on the agenda is a fireside conversation with AARP Chief DEI Officer Edna Kane-Williams.

Furthermore, dentsu Media Americas will be presented with a National Service Award from NABOB/PURF, while the esteemed Dr. Benjamin Chavis, President/CEO of the National Newspaper Publishers Association, will receive the 2023 NABOB Lifetime Achievement Award.

For the first time at PURF, a “Global Media Agency Panel of Power” will showcase the Chief Equity Officers of these leading agencies, including Publicis, Omnicom Media Group, Hearts and Sciences, dentsu, Horizon Media and Group M. “These powerbrokers will discuss how they are driving more investment dollars to diverse media companies,” Kizart says. “These global agencies plan and buy over $100 billion in measured media annually.”

Moderating this session is Urban One Chief Revenue Officer Josh Rehmani.

This year’s event also features a Radio Broadcasters CEO Discussion and will include iHeartMedia Chairman/CEO Bob Pittman, Urban One President/CEO Alfred
Liggins III, Beasley Media Group CEO Caroline Beasley, Spanish Broadcasting System President/CEO Albert Rodriguez, and Kevin Perry, President/COO of Perry Broadcasting. The discussion will be moderated by NABOB President Jim Winston and former Radio & Records Publisher Erica Farber, CEO of the Radio Advertising Bureau.

Kizart notes, “As the 2023 Power of Urban Radio Forum again brings together the nation’s
leading and senior marketing executives, media agency leaders, and broadcast CEOs from across the country, this event describes what is truly best in class that is found at this multicultural marketing and media symposium.”
