‘News Influencers’: How Younger Americans Get Their News

WASHINGTON, D.C. — News influencers were seemingly everywhere during the 2024 presidential campaign, from the party conventions to a series of podcast appearances by the candidates.


Is it an existential threat to broadcast radio and TV, or is it a potential investment or partnership opportunity? New data from Pew Research Center suggest either may be of consideration, as nearly 40% of young adults queried say they get news from influencers on social media.
