A Religious Broadcaster Smiles Wider With Toledo Take

Eighteen months ago, Robert Jamrog sold his 50% ownership stake in a Toledo, Ohio, FM translator to his business partner. Now, she’s agreed to sell the facility to a regional religious broadcasting organization in a transaction brokered by her husband, George Kimble.

In February 2023, W277BI at 103.3 MHz in Toledo, Ohio, was on its way to become 100%-owned by Patricia Anderson-Kimble.

Now, Mr. Kimble through his RadioTVforSale.com brokerage has arranged for the transfer of control for the FM translator from Toledo FM LLC to Smile FM.

That’s the Contemporary Christian radio network found across Michigan that is expanding into the Buckeye State led by CEO Ed Czelada.

A LMS filing for regulatory approval was due by Friday (8/2). However, RBR+TVBR has learned that the terms of the deal call for a $100,000 cash payment along with a $250,000 tax donation.

W277BI operates with 160 watts but is presently silent under Special Temporary Authority, granted at the end of December 2023. It has until December 4 to resume operations.

Why did W277BI? “Due to a default in the Time Brokerage Agreement with a third party, the station had to suspend operations until new programming arrangements have been made.”

Serving as Ms. Kimble’s legal counsel is James Oyster.
