For longtime NPR listeners and PBS viewers, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation is a long-familiar source of financial support, helping to create “a just, verdant, and peaceful world.”
Now, the foundation is putting millions of dollars in grants toward what it calls “a national initiative to strengthen communities and democracy by supporting local news and information.”
