A multi-year distribution agreement has been agreed to between the owner and operator of seven digital multicast networks and a virtual MVPD that is in the process of being acquired by The Walt Disney Co.

The fresh deal will see Weigel Broadcasting’s second-run focused MeTV network and its MeTV+ and MeTV Toons offshoot diginets; Heroes & Icons (H&I); Catchy Comedy; Story Television; and MOVIES! appear nationally on Fubo TV.

In Chicago, the “sports-first” vMVPD will also offer select subscribers access to unaffiliated WCIU-TV, branded as “The U” and on Channel 26. It is the broadcast home of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky.

Specifically, subscribers of Fubo’s Pro and Elite channel plans can now stream Weigel’s national entertainment networks.

“Weigel is excited to add our entertainment networks and Chicago’s WCIU, The U to the Fubo platform,” said Jim Hall, VP of Business Development at Weigel Broadcasting Co. “Giving viewers access to our programming, alongside the popular sports and general entertainment content that Fubo is well known for, is a win-win for their subscribers, our viewers and both our companies.”
