He has a quarter-century of experience in media sales, marketing and revenue generation for advertising-driven operations and was previously VP and Director of Sales in the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose and Monterey-Salinas DMAs for Effectv.

Introducing the new VP/GM of KRON-4 in San Francisco, owned by Nexstar Media Group.

For Chris Flynn, he’ll be in charge with overseeing the local news-fueled affiliate of The CW, in addition to KRON4.com and KRON4+, a local 24-hour digital streaming news platform. He reports to Nexstar broadcasting division SVP/Regional Manager Matthew Rosenfeld.

Writing on LinkedIn, Flynn said, “As a Bay Area native and 27-year veteran of the Bay Area media marketplace, I’m honored to take on the role as Vice President and General Manager of KRON4. KRON4 has a legacy here in the San Francisco Bay Area as one of the most trusted news operations and brands. I couldn’t be more excited for what comes next as this team continues to evolve as the most trusted digital media news operation serving the entire San Francisco Bay Area market and extended Northern California region. It is a new day at KRON4 and I’m thrilled to be a part of such a hardworking team that will take this brand into the future!”

Effectv is now known as Comcast Advertising, and Flynn spent more than six years there. Before that he was VP/Director of Sales for CBS Owned Stations’ KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV in San Francisco, holding that role for 6 1/2 years.

Prior to that, Flynn worked for Granite Television as General Sales Manager for KOFY-TV in the San Francisco DMA.

“Chris is a dynamic and strategic leader with deep roots in the Bay Area media market,” Rosenfeld said. “His unique blend of broadcast expertise, digital fluency, and proven sales leadership makes him ideally suited to lead KRON into its next chapter of growth and innovation. He understands how to connect local audiences and advertisers across omnichannel platforms, and I am confident he will elevate KRON’s position as the Bay Area’s Local News Station.”
