WASHINGTON, D.C. — The industry lobbying group that is the face of small and independent cable TV service providers inside the Beltway has promoted from within to fill the SVP/Legal and Regulatory Affairs role.
Brian Hurley, who joined Pittsburgh-headquartered ACA Connects in 2018, will now serve the role and lead advocacy on all legal and regulatory matters for the association.
He previously served as Chief Regulatory Counsel.
“Under Brian’s leadership, ACA Connects has celebrated many achievements that have greatly benefited our Members,” said ACA Connects President and CEO Grant Spellmeyer. “This most recently includes the Sixth Circuit rejecting the Title II regulations, preventing the bulk billing ban, challenging the FCC’s attempts to regulate every corner of the broadband industry, and advocating to NTIA to lift permitting burdens to speed up the deployment of broadband infrastructure. These wins wouldn’t have been possible without Brian’s thoughtful direction over our advocacy and high-quality filings to government agencies and the courts. I’m pleased he is taking on a greater role in our organization as senior vice president to further advocate for sound public policy and help our help our Members navigate an everchanging regulatory environment.”
Before joining ACA Connects, Hurley served 10 years as an attorney at the FCC, rising in October 2016 to Special Counsel serving as a Designated Federal Officer of the Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee. He departed the Commission in May 2018.
