A Class B AM serving Kansas City, simulcast on an FM translator covering the Kansas portion of the metropolitan area, is being spun.

The buyer is a non-profit dedicated to serving the Hispanic population in the region, one of America’s top emerging Latino markets.

Paperwork has been submitted to the FCC for approval of the transfer of control of KKLO-AM 1410 in Leavenworth, Kan., and K224FF at 92.7 MHz in Lenexa, Kan.

Vision Communications is the seller, and it is pocketing $775,000 from the sale of the facilities to Radio Vida Kansas.

A $100,000 escrow deposit has been made by the buyer.

Representing Radio Vida as the broker in this transaction is Sandi Bergman of Bergman Broadcasting Co.

Vision Communications is led by R.C. Amer, based in Springfield, Mo.

For the buyer, the President is Isabel Harrigan. She used the legal services of John C. Trent to get the paperwork submitted to the Commission.

The deal includes assumption of tower lease obligations to American Tower.

KKLO is a 5kw day/500 watt facility with 3 daytime towers and 2 nighttime towers.

At present, it airs a Talk format featuring syndicated personalities Hugh Hewitt, Brian Kilmeade, Dana Loesch, Dennis Prager, Sebastian Gorka and Tom Sullivan.

That’s set to disappear from KKLO and K224FF, with Radio Vida’s purchase. The buyer is expected to simulcast, or over similar programming to, KZGC-FM 91.9 in Garden City, Kan.
