CBS Stations this week flips the switch on new evening newscasts at unaffiliated and The CW Network-affiliated stations in 10 markets. To best prepare for the newscast launches, the Paramount division has hired some 28 news professionals to support the increase in newsgathering.

With Peter Saad now in place as Executive Director, the non-profit industry organization representing Low Power, Translator, Class A and Full Power TV Stations has lured a Television Music Licensee Committee executive to serve as its Membership Director.

He's taken the role of Executive Vice President and Head of Sales and is now be responsible for driving new customer growth and adoption of 605 capabilities, leading the full spectrum of sales management and account strategy across the entire portfolio of 605 solutions.

When it comes to outdoor activities and recreation, there's perhaps no better place in the Pacific Northwest to enjoy it all than picturesque Bend, Ore. Here in this Central Oregon city, Horizon Broadcasting Group owns or operates five radio stations. As of Monday, those media properties have a new leader.

While no firm launch date has yet been set, CBS News and Stations has taken a step closer toward the debut of its local news programming in Detroit. WWJ-62, The CW-affiliated WKBD-50 and CBS News Detroit are welcoming two anchors, a meteorologist and an "Executive Producer of Community Impact."
