In a series of individually filed transfer of control applications with the FCC that require its regulatory approval, the widow of the late Steve Marks has signed off on the sale of a group of radio stations to an entity led by Managing Member Andrew Sturlaugson.
The Estate of Steven Marks, oversee by Mary Marks, is selling the group of stations to P&A Media, located in Glendive, Mont. and led by Sturlaugson.
With Dawn Sciarrino of Sciarrino & Shubert as P&A’s legal counsel, and David Oxenford of Wilkinson Barker Knauer representing the Marks estate, the following transfers of control to P&A await the FCC’s OK:
- Dickinson-Belfield Broadcasting Corp.’s KQLZ-FM in New England and KXDI-FM in Belfield, N.D. Radio historians will note the “KQLZ” call letters were once used by Westwood One for its “Pirate Radio” operation in Los Angeles, from March 1989 through April 2, 1993.
- Miles City, Forsyth Broadcasting Inc.’s KIKC-AM & FM and K233BL in Forsyth, Mont.
- Glendive Broadcasting Corp.’s KXGN-AM & K276GO in Glendive, Mont.
- Sidney Community Broadcasting Corp.’s KGCX-FM in Sidney, Mont.
- Magic Air Communications Co.’s KDZN-FM in Glendive, Mont.
- Williston Community Broadcasting Corp.’s KDSR-FM & KXWI-FM in Williston, N.D.
- Custer County Community Broadcasting Corp.’s KMTA-AM, KYUS-FM & K237DW in Miles City, Mont.
An $850,000 purchase price has been agreed to, with a $100,000 escrow deposit made by Sturlaugson’s group.
Larry Patrick served as the broker in this transaction, representing the Marks estate.
