What happens when one of the most recognizable call letters in America teams up with one of the nation’s most-beloved hamburger chains? The result is a renamed performance venue on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, thanks to a just-inked partnership between an Audacy Inc. Alternative icon and In-N-Out Burger.
After 15 years, The Sound Space at KROQ is now the “In-N-Out Burger Sound Space at KROQ.”
Kevin Weatherly, KROQ’s Senior Vice President of Programming, says the station is excited to partner with the quick-service restaurant. “These two iconic, SoCal brands are joining forces with the sole purpose of delivering unforgettable live music moments,” he said.
To celebrate the partnership, Canadian alternative act Bleachers performed on Tuesday evening (4/21); an on-site In-N-Out Cookout Truck will be parked outside at select shows.
“In-N-Out Burger has a strong synergy with the Southern California experience, just like KROQ,” said Lynsi Snyder-Ellingson, President and Owner of In-N-Out Burger. “I’m truly excited for this new opportunity, especially because both music and KROQ have always been special to me and such huge parts of my life. Often, our .48 Special (In-N-Out’s band) set lists are tunes from ‘90s KROQ! Music is such a powerful way to connect with the people we care about, and I can’t wait to see this special space filled with live performances, community, and memorable experiences.”
The partnership will also incorporate KROQ’s partnership with the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, founded by Lynsi Snyder-Ellingson and her husband, Sean Ellingson, with the mission to free people from being enslaved to any person or substance.
On October 24, KROQ and In-N-Out Burger will come together to present the sixth annual Rock 2 Freedom Benefit Concert at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. The evening event will be hosted by KROQ host Megan Holiday, a dedicated advocate for sobriety, recovery and harm reduction. She celebrates her 10-year sobriety milestone this year.
In-N-Out Burger covers all costs associated with the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, ensuring that 100% of every dollar raised goes to organizations that assist individuals and families to gain freedom and healing from human trafficking and substance abuse.
Since its founding in 2016, Slave 2 Nothing has awarded over $17 million in grants to more than 400 organizations.
