It’s a 1kw Class C AM licensed to Sparks, Nev., with a city-grade signal of Reno and coverage of much of the Nevada state capital, Carson City.
It boasts an FM translator with a directional signal pointing toward Incline Village, Nev.
Both are now heading to a new owner, pending FCC approval.
Charlotte Weinberg has signed off on the sale of KNNR-AM 1400 in Sparks and FM translator K277DL in Washoe Valley, Nev.
Her 1400 Investments LLC is being spun to Silver State Broadcasting, led by Donald Brown.
Brown is based in the Maricopa County, Ariz., town of Cave Creek, above Scottsdale. And, he’s paying $58,000 for the pair.
Terms of the transaction see Brown sign on to a Promissory Note valued at $30,000. He will then assume a second Promissory Note, one 1400 Investments’ Fred Weinberg and Floyd Brown agreed to in January 2019 with the stations’ prior licensee, George S. Flinn Jr. It is valued at $28,000.
As RBR+TVBR previously reported, Flinn in February 2018 signed off on the sale of KNNR and the FM translator to 1400 Investments. The original plan: to make KNNR and owned-and-operated simulcast partner of Ely Radio’s KELY-AM in Ely, Nev. Together, the stations are known as the “Nevada Talk Network.”
But, it appears the COVID-19 pandemic may have put a damper on the original growth plan.
The February 2018 deal’s value: $100,000.
