A Sacramento-area broadcast technology company focused on the design, engineering, and manufacturing of RF transmission equipment and systems for radio and television stations has agreed to begin supporting HD Radio, thanks to a newly signed agreement with Xperi Inc.
The entry into HD Radio broadcast technology for American Amplifier Technologies (AAT) will center on the development of HD Radio modulators, importer/exporter systems, and ongoing research into new applications for HD data channels.
The companies plan to collaborate on ways to explore new opportunities in the evolving broadcast landscape. AAT Chief Technology Officer Matt Rigdon commented, “This relationship opens the door to meaningful innovation and product development that will benefit the broadcast community as a whole.”
While specific technical details were not disclosed, both companies note that they share a common vision of “enhancing broadcaster capabilities and unlocking new value within the HD Radio ecosystem.”
