Quincy, Ill.-based Broadcast Electronics, part of the Elenos Group, has brought to market the company’s newest FM transmitter.

Dubbed ETX, the transmitter takes capabilities from the company’s BE STX line and the Elenos ETG transmitter products.

The ETX line is currently shipping and on the air in the U.S. and Latin America with models ranging from 600 watts to 5kw, BE says.

According to BE, the ETX provides efficiency, compactness, and reliability, along with a cost-reduction option.

ETX includes a digital direct-to-channel FM modulator and hot-pluggable power supplies.

The control system provides monitoring, logging, and control capabilities. A front panel LCD screen, navigation buttons and LED indicators allow for user review, setup, and diagnostics. The RJ-45 port brings connectivity to the HTML-5 GUI and SNMP; a programable parallel GPI/O interface provides connectivity to a traditional remote-control system.

“With ETX, Broadcasters no longer have to tradeoff between high performance and cost-effective solutions for compact FM transmitters,” said BE President/COO Rich Redmond. “In addition to the low operating costs the ETX can save even more by leveraging simple yet powerful integrated options like multi-band audio processing, IP codecs including μMPX and even an off-air rebroadcast receiver adding up to thousands of dollars in savings all with BE’s legendary US based support.”
