SUNRISE, FLA. — The 2023-2024 Stanley Cup Champions, which announced on July 2 that it will bring its non-national play-by-play coverage to broadcast television in the Florida markets not tied to the Tampa Bay Lightning, have formally rolled out its streaming platform — a partnership that involves Scripps Sports.

Introducing “Panthers Plus,” a mobile application that will serve as the official streaming home of the Florida Panthers NHL club.

The app is now available on web browsers, iOS, Android, AppleTV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV. Additional platforms Samsung TV and LG TV are expected to be announced and added in the coming weeks by ViewLift, the Panthers’ digital partner.

The Panthers Plus Season Pass is available for purchase now at PanthersPlus.TV. For $69.99 plus applicable taxes, viewers will get 70 live locally produced Panthers games; games produced by TNT and ESPN will not be included in the package. The lure for fans is the added programming and features beyond the free-to-air telecasts.

Panthers Plus is a collaboration with both ViewLift and The E.W. Scripps Co.’s Scripps Sports, which will now produce and distribute the team’s games. “The Scripps Sports partnership with the Florida Panthers is all about making the Panthers games available on every platform, so fans can enjoy the games wherever they are in their busy lives,” said Brian Lawlor, President of Scripps Sports. “This new app ensures that fans of the Panthers can watch the games even when they are enjoying all the other great things about South Florida.”

ViewLift already works with the NHL’s Las Vegas Golden Knights through a different joint project with Scripps Sports.

“Panthers Plus” will offer free access to pre-season games on September 27 and 28 at the Carolina Hurricanes, and on September 30 and October 2 at the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Access to Panthers studio shows and other non-game in-house produced content will be free for registered users.

“For about a $1 a game, this streaming service is another great option for our fans to use as part of their regular tune-in routine,” said Florida Panthers Chief Strategy Officer Mark Zarthar. “In addition to live games, our passionate viewers will have the chance to watch the weekly Panthers Primetime show and to view Panthers content daily.”
