Greg Janoff Transitions to Consulting Role At USRN

In August 2019, Greg Janoff was welcomed by United Stations Radio Networks (USRN) as its new Chief Revenue Officer. His job: to oversee ad sales efforts in both the traditional radio network business and audio and video revenue streams available to advertisers and marketing partners via USRN’s digital platforms.

As of today, Janoff, whose past roles include those of VP/GM for WINS-AM in New York, will serve in a consulting role at USRN. A new CRO is already in-house at the company co-founded by the late Dick Clark and Chairman/CEO Nick Verbitsky.

Succeeding Janoff in the role is Eric V. Romero.

He’s inbound from the Andrés Cantor-helmed Fútbol de Primera, the U.S. Spanish-language audio-rights holder for the FIFA 2022 World Cup. There, Romero served as Senior Director of Network Sales.

Romero’s hiring at USRN is intriguing, as Romero’s resumé includes stints selling local and national airtime in the U.S. Hispanic television space for CBS, Petry Television, Univision and HBO Latin America. After beginning his career in 1989 under Beasley-Reed at WPOW “Power 96” in Miami while the late Bill Tanner was in morning drive, Romero returned to radio with roles in sales at Univision Radio, ABC Radio Networks and ESPN Radio.

Verbitsky calls Romero “a talented and energized sales executive whose commitment to serving the advertising community is well documented. His ability to create marketing partnerships for some of the world’s biggest companies and his understanding of event programming is a perfect fit with our current mission.”

Romero comments, “United Stations has an incredible trajectory, and impressive leadership starting from the top. I am both eager, and enthusiastic to shape their future as part of the team.”

Speaking on Janoff’s new role as a consultant, Verbitsky said, “We want to thank Greg for his contributions and leadership and are thrilled to continue having him as an advisor to United Stations.” He added that Janoff’s overall knowledge of the company’s properties, inventory management and client relationships “will be valuable assets to Romero and the rest of the sales team moving forward.”
