The Univision Network announced today the first in the lineup of 10 celebrities to participate in the highly-anticipated new season of the reality dance competition that won the hearts of millions, “¡Mira Quién Baila!” (Look Who’s Dancing!), a co-production of Univision Studios and Endemol. Famed actor Erik Estrada will be among the celebrities who will partner with amateur dancers to show off their best moves and compete for the chance to win the grand prize for their charity of choice. Other A-list celebrities to join Estrada in this season’s awaited dance competition will be announced in the days to come.

“We are thrilled to reveal Erik Estrada as the first celebrity to join the ‘¡Mira Quién Baila!’ dance floor,” said Luis Fernandez, president of entertainment for Univision Networks and Univision Studios. “He will join a stellar cast in the second season of what has become one of Hispanic America’s favorite shows.”

As one of the most iconic breakthrough Latino artists of his time, and widely known for his legendary role as officer Frank Poncherello (“Ponch”) in the 80’s police drama “CHIPs,” Estrada is one of television’s most beloved actors. Since becoming an international phenomenon and sex symbol for his work on the long-running series, Estrada has starred on large and small screens alike, headlining top-rated shows and Spanish-language novelas including Televisa’s hit production “Dos Mujeres un Camino” (Two Women One Path) with Laura León. Most recently he also dusted off his uniform to participate in the reality competition “Armed and Famous” where he joined other celebrities who trained to become real-life police officers. Born and raised in New York’s Spanish Harlem to Puerto Rican parents, the charming Estrada has paved the way for many other aspiring Hispanic actors.

Now, Estrada hangs his uniform and boots in exchange for a pair of dancing shoes to answer the call of duty and aid one of his most beloved causes.

The highly anticipated return of “¡Mira Quién Baila!” brings a group of A-list celebrities that will show off their best dance moves in front of a live audience as they compete to win while supporting a good cause. Whether it’s urban, Latin pop, tango, salsa, merengue, cha-cha-cha or rock n’ roll, among other rhythms, contestants will rotate partners to demonstrate their dancing versatility.

The show’s expert panel of judges will select the top dancers every week, while the others will be judged and eliminated by the hardest critics of all – the audience. Participating celebrities will not only need to be savvy on the dance floor, but also win the support of the audience.

Univision.com’s online and mobile coverage of Mira Quién Baila is better than ever before, with profiles of all artists and participants, complete with the latest news, videos and photos. Each week, fans will access exclusive weekly show recaps, behind the scenes, top dances and participate in polls and quizzes.
