When NAB Show New York opens on Wednesday at the Javits Center, the latest innovations in pro broadcast imaging and production control will be on display with the full focus of those representing Kokusai Denki Electric America Inc.
That’s the company that formerly marketed its products under the Hitachi name, and it plans on showcasing its flagship 4k broadcast camera, 4k box camera, the RU-2500JY remote control panel and a new VF-EL20HP broadcast camera viewfinder.
KOKUSAI DENKI Electric America will be found at Booth 430 at the Javits Center during NAB Show New York, from October 21-22.
Leading the company’s NAB Show New York presence is the SK-UHD7000, a professional 4K UHD camera system with a camera that incorporates three 2/3-inch CMOS image sensors with native 4K resolution, capturing 3840×2160 UHD images with color reproduction, sensitivity and low-noise performance. Its global shutter technology minimizes unwanted artifacts such as flickering and banding associated with LED lighting and large-format displays.
KOKUSAI DENKI also offers the SK-UHD7000-S2 configuration, a flexible entry point to 4K through an optional license upgrade with instant activation.
The DK-H700 multi-format box camera combines broadcast-quality imaging with various deployment options.
Designed for applications where camera size, positioning and operational versatility are essential, the DK-H700 is particularly well-suited for sports venues, live event production, broadcast studios and specialized point-of-view camera installations. The DK-H700 incorporates 2/3-inch CMOS imaging technology, advanced digital signal processing and HDR support.
The DK-H700 can operate as a standalone production solution or complement the SK-UHD7000 in larger multicamera environments.
Complementing the camera lineup is the RU-2500JY remote control panel, which KOKUSAI DENKI will demonstrate in combination with the SK-UHD7000. Designed to maximize operational control within limited production space, the RU-2500JY features an ultra-slim 82 mm (3.2-inch) width that allows side-by-side installation of five units in a standard 19-inch rack.
The panel integrates a 3.5-inch color touchscreen, illuminated controls, precision joystick and dedicated camera shading functions that give operators intuitive access to essential picture adjustments during live production. Advanced HDR and SDR controls, color matrix adjustments and scene file recall support consistent image quality across multicamera productions.
With support for both traditional serial connectivity and IP-based control via Power over Ethernet (PoE), the RU-2500JY accommodates established broadcast infrastructures as well as evolving REMI and decentralized production workflows. Its USB interface also enables operators to store and recall camera configurations, simplifying setup and maintaining consistency across multiple production environments.
NAB Show New York will see the global debut of the VF-EL20HP broadcast camera viewfinder. It combines a 0.7-inch Full HD OLED eyepiece with a 3.5-inch Full HD flip-out LCD monitor, allowing camera operators to transition between traditional eyepiece viewing and flexible off-axis monitoring without additional external displays.
Additional features include customizable focus peaking, exposure aids, framing markers and direct SDI return monitoring, helping operators maintain precise image control while reducing reliance on external monitoring accessories.
“Broadcast and live production teams need equipment that adapts to changing workflows and protects their long-term investments,” said Sean Moran, COO of KOKUSAI DENKI Electric America, ahead of the NAB Show New York. “Our [show] demonstrations reflect that balance, from the outstanding native 4K performance of the SK-UHD7000 and flexibility of the DK-H700 to more intuitive camera control and monitoring. The global debut of our new VF-EL20HP viewfinder is another example of how we’re bringing practical innovation to our customers, whether building new 4K systems or extending the capabilities of their existing infrastructure.”
