With AMFA Markup On Capitol Hill, NAB is Fighting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Nearly two hours into a House Judiciary Committee Markup, Members were still vigorously debating the Preventing Suicide Through Voluntary Firearm Purchase Delay Act. Republicans and Democrats sparred over gun ownership rights, and what the Federal government can do without infringing on the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

On deck: H.R. 4130, the American Music Fairness Act — the proposed legislation supported by pro-recording industry lobby musicFIRST and being fought by the NAB on behalf of Radio.

Even as the industry awaited markup on H.R. 4130, which began at 5:35pm Eastern, the NAB went on the offensive, urging broadcasters to “act today to protect radio.”
