She served as the “NCSA/PEP Coordinator” for the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and had been with the organization led by Michelle Vetterkind for two decades. Now, radio and TV professionals across the state are remembering the life of Liz Boyd, who has died at the age of 71.
Boyd joined the WBA after working at WKOW-TV in Madison. There, she served as Program Director for 15 years. As NCSA/PEP Coordinator, Boyd had relationships with traffic personnel all across Wisconsin. “In her many other roles with the WBA, she was known and loved by the general membership,” the organization said on Thursday. “She greeted thousands of attendees at WBA events and contributed significantly to the WBA’s inspection program, the WBA Hall of Fame, Local Broadcast Legends, and the awards program.”
Vetterkind commented, “Liz was one of us. She was a broadcaster, and a dear friend. Liz had a deep connection with our membership, always able to recall names, relationships, and stories from WBA lore. The WBA won’t be the same without her. In the WBA we always say that once you’re one of us, you’re always one of us. Liz will always be one of us.”
