NEW YORK — An entertainment industry attorney with unscripted programming and film experience across international platforms, has joined Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) as Vice President of Business Affairs.
Cathy Perifimos spent nearly 10 years at Paramount Global and CBS Corporation, where she managed business and legal affairs for Smithsonian Channel and across the MTV Entertainment Group. She most recently served as counsel with boutique law firms, where her practice focused on entertainment and media, including scripted television, film, and talent representation.
“Cathy is a great addition to HMPG’s team, bringing domestic and international experience and helping advance our production, distribution, and branded content goals,” said HMPG President Frank Biancuzzo.
Until February 2024, Perifimos was VP of Business and Legal Affairs at the Smithsonian Channel, rising from a Counsel and Director role in the department. She joined Smithsonian in September 2014 as Counsel following a three-year run as an associate at Dembitzer & Dembitzer in New York.
Following her receipt of a J.D. from Cardozo School of Law, Perifimos began her professional career as an assistant and Associate Agent in the Film and Audio Department of Curtis Brown Group.
