Winemiller: A Buyer and Seller of Utah LPTVs

0

In July 2025, prolific low-power TV station licensee Jeff Winemiller agreed to purchase a property serving Salt Lake City. Now, he’s spinning it to a name very familiar to those following the LPTV business for the last several years.

At the same time, Winemiller is acquiring a different Utah LPTV property.

In the first of two asset purchase agreements submitted by Lowcountry 34 Media through its legal representative, Davina Sashkin of Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP, Winemiller is parting ways with KPDR-LD in Salt Lake City.

The buyer is HC2 Station Group, led by President/CEO Les Levi.

HC2 is paying $215,000 for the LPTV facility, and a $50,000 deposit has been made to Lowcountry 34 Media. That makes the sale profit-making for Winemiller, who agreed to purchase KPDR-LD last year from Craig Caples, Marilyn Caples, and William L. Mitchell for $165,000.

While KPDR-LD will no longer be a Lowcountry 34 property, it is moving forward with the acquisition of Logan, Utah-licensed KJDN-LD.

The seller is Soule Video Productions, led by Larry Soule. And, this deal includes K11XG-D in Logan, says an asset purchase agreement dated September 5, 2025 but not submitted for regulatory approval until January 14, 2026. Yet, according to the Commission, Lowcountry 34 Media closed on K11XG in December 2025.

The purchase of KJDN and K11XG cost Winemiller $30,000, and a 10% deposit has been made to Soule.

KJDN has a signal contour that covers Logan and Brigham City, Utah, to the north of Salt Lake City.
