A new ATSC 3.0 “lighthouse” has been lit, and it will allow those capable of accessing NEXTGEN TV signals on their devices to access live and local channels serving Tucson and Nogales, Ariz., with better sound and improved picture quality.

NEXTGEN TV is now available in Arizona’s second-largest DMA, thanks to NBCUniversal Local’s owned-and-operated KHRR-TV “Telemundo 40.”

KHRR is hosting ATSC 3.0 signals for PBS member station KUAT-6; Allen Media Group-owned NBC affiliate KVOA-4; ABC affiliate KGUN-9, owned by The E.W. Scripps Co.; and both Gray Television‘s CBS affiliate KOLD-13 and FOX affiliate KMSB-11, which is owned by TEGNA but operated by Gray via a shared services agreement.
