We wish we could someday write the headline STELA by Starlight, but we can’t. The House Communications and Technology Subcommittee will be looking into the issue in broad daylight on Wednesday 6/12/13.
The bill addresses a number of matters, among them the importation of distant broadcast signals by satellite MVPDs and the rules of the road for carrying network affiliates in state border areas.
The legislation carries a sunset and has already been renewed and revised in the past. All options are currently on the table however. The Republican leadership has named the hearing “The Satellite Television Law: Repeal, Reauthorize, or Revise?”
The session is scheduled for 10:30 AM.
