Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) has secured key support from Armed Services Committee Republicans for his revised spectrum bill, setting the stage for a fast-track vote and potential signing by the Fourth of July. The legislation revives the FCC’s auction authority and launches the largest commercial spectrum pipeline in U.S. history—800 MHz of prime mid-band spectrum—while statutorily protecting critical national security frequencies.
