With two weeks to go before Santa goes on his around-the-globe sleigh ride, retailers and restaurants teamed up in giving radio a bevy of spots to broadcast over the first full week of December.

As seen below in the latest Media Monitors Spot Ten Radio report, Chili’s has stepped up its activity during the busy holiday shopping season to lure customers to its restaurants.

New efforts from the casual dining chain put Chili’s at No. 6 among all advertisers using radio, with 21,429 spot plays tracked over the week ending Dec. 9.

Meanwhile, consistent advertising from GEICO, The Home Depot, and JCPenney is seen, as the three brands remain in the top 5 as McDonald’s steps up its efforts.

At the same time, JARED is wooing jewelry seekers with a broad new effort that includes both radio and TV. The radio efforts puts the jeweler in the Spot Ten.
