The News Director for TEGNA‘s two television stations in Memphis is getting a rise in market size, with her naming to a similar post in Atlanta by the publicly traded company.
Assuming the ND role at WXIA-TV, branded as “11Alive,” in Atlanta is Denisha Thomas.
Thomas will start her new role on July 22 and reports to Carol Fowler, WXIA’s Director of Content. “Denisha’s reputation as a strong journalist and change leader is well known in the media industry,” she said. “Her no-nonsense style is welcome in a business that needs more people who are both direct and empathetic.”
Thomas joined WATN “ABC24″ in Memphis in 2020, and has previously worked in Atlanta as well as at television stations in Jonesboro, Ark.; Buffalo; and Cleveland.
