Hablamos el mismo idioma. That translates to “We speak the same language,” and for Estrella Media, there are multiple interpretations of that new marketing tag it hopes will lure new and returning viewers to its Spanish-language broadcast network.
A promotional campaign is about to begin, and it is tied to new prime-time program launches, and a refreshed look for local newscasts in three key Estrella TV markets.
“’Hablamos el Mismo Idioma’ is more than just a name; it is how we see our programming and ourselves as one with our audience,” said Enrique Guillen, Chief Content Officer at Estrella Media.
Six new shows are coming to Estrella TV’s prime-time and daytime schedule on Monday, February 12.
Leading the nightly prime-time lineup is the new show El Lavadero.
Interestingly, Estrella TV considers 6pm “prime-time,” as that’s when this weeknight “gossip and games show” will air. It is hosted by Juan Alberto Santos.
At 7pm is Estrella TV’s signature unscripted show 100 Latinos Dijeron, a variation of “Family Feud,” while the 8pm hour will feature La Hora Nichols, described a nightly topical entertainment and opinion show starring Rolando Nichols.
“Viral news show” Alarma TV takes the 9pm ET slot, while national newscast Noticiero EstrellaTV: Cierre de Edicíon will air at 10pm ET.
“From the launch of La Hora Nichols in prime time to our new daytime shows, strengthened local news programming, and the consistency of our flagships Cierre de Edicíon and Alarma TV, we are committed to celebrating, advocating for, and empowering our audience,” Guillen said.
For those in markets where Estrella TV is not seen on an over-the-air channel, access can be had via the nationally available EstrellaTV app on iOS and Android devices.
In addition to the new primetime schedule, Estrella TV announced three new half-hour daytime shows:
- El Factor Nour (4 p.m./3 p.m. C.T.), starring Estrella News 24 Horas Anchor and Alarma TV host Nour Milla
- Línea Directa con Abel (4:30 p.m./3:30 p.m. C.T.), starring EstrellaTV and Estrella News Anchor Abel Alvarez
- En la Mira con Palmira (5:30 p.m./4:30 p.m. C.T.) starring EstrellaTV and Estrella News Anchor Palmira Perez.
Furthermore, Estrella TV has “revamped” its on-air studios and original local news programming at its owned-and-operated stations in Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, and Miami. With these changes comes the return of news and sports anchor Alexandra Stergios to Estrella TV.
