Scripps Sports Snags NWSL Rights In Denver

The National Women’s Soccer League‘s newest franchise has secured an exclusive local broadcast rights agreement with The E.W. Scripps Co., a deal secured by Scripps Sports President Brian Lawlor that will see all non-nationally exclusive matches air on the company’s two broadcast TV stations in Denver.


As a result, Denver Summit FC games will be seen on KMGH-TV “Denver7,” and on KCDO-TV “The Spot Denver 3.”

The Summit begin play in 2026, and the multi-year agreement with the team owned and operated by Rob Cohen builds on Scripps Sports’ existing NWSL national partnership, which sees the ION Network air Saturday evening double-headers throughout the league’s regular season.

Scripps also notes that the Denver Summit FC It also rincluding einforces the company’s commitment to women’s professional sports, which national coverage of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), Major League Volleyball (MLV), ATHLOS track and field, and the Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off college basketball tournament.

Scripps Sports is also the local television partner for the WNBA Champion Las Vegas Aces.

The regular season begins March 13, 2026, and NWSL excitement is building. In Kansas City, the Kansas City Current has seen steady fan growth over the last several years, thanks in part to ownership by Pat and Brittany Mahomes.
