Chiefland, Fla., is a tiny community, due west of Gainesville. And, it has been home to a Class A FM simulcasting a Classic Rocker with signals in both Gainesville and in nearby Ocala.
Soon, a change will be coming, with a gust of “Wind” removing one asset from the Saga Communications stable.
On Wednesday, Saga and Suncoast Radio signed an asset sale agreement that, pending FCC approval, will make Suncoast the owner of WNDN-FM 107.9.
A $150,000 purchase price has been agreed upon, with a $7,500 deposit being held by Smithwick & Belendiuk P.C.
Of the total price, $65,000 is allocated to real estate.
Suncoast Radio is led by John Elliott and is based in Palm Harbor, Fla.
What will Elliott do with WNDN? It could wind up as a home for “Country Legends,” presently heard on WLQH-AM in Chiefland and WZCC-AM in Cross City, along with its respective FM translators.
Or, Elliott could be bringing a second radio brand to listeners in the community.
