Ryan Seacrest Staying With iHeartMedia

He was discovered by the team at Jefferson-Pilot Communications’ WSTR-FM “Star 94” in Atlanta as a 14-year-old high school student and given an internship in 1989 by Tony Novia and Lee Chesnut. This sparked a career that would see him gain fame alongside Lisa Foxx in afternoons at KYSR-FM “Star 98.7” in Los Angeles in the late 1990s before succeeding the iconic Rick Dees in mornings at KIIS-FM.

Today, Ryan Seacrest is perhaps the most recognizable radio personality in the U.S. And, he’s sticking around with iHeartMedia‘s L.A. Top 40 station, American Top 40 and every other endeavor he’s involved with at the company.

An extension of Seacrest’s contract through December 31, 2027, has been finalized.

It extends “a partnership” between iHeartMedia and Seacrest, and sees the successful negotiation of the deal between Ryan Seacrest Enterprises Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Jeff Refold and attorney Jonathan West of Latham & Watkins LLP.

Under the agreement, Seacrest will continue in his multiple roles as KIIS-FM morning host; for the Premiere Networks-syndicated “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” and American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest; and as a key advisor on such events as the iHeartRadio Music Festival, the “Jingle Ball” holiday concert staged for KIIS listeners in Los Angeles and other tentpole events, working closely with iHeartMedia Chairman/CEO Bob Pittman and COO/CFO Rich Bressler.

“It’s an honor to once again extend our relationship with Ryan, one of our most iconic personalities who has been instrumental in growing iHeartMedia’s reach in his three-decade career with us while endlessly entertaining our audiences nationwide,” Bressler said. “Ryan is in a class of his own in the entertainment industry and we’re thrilled to have his expertise, business savvy and talent to count on for years to come.”
