KANSAS CITY, MO. — The Major League Baseball club that won the World Series in 2015 and 30 years before has announced a partnership that will allow ten of its regular-season games to air on Gray Media stations in the team’s home market.

The Kansas City Royals are poised to have the games, originating from FanDuel Sports Network — the Royals rightsholder partner — air on Gray’s CBS-affiliated KCTV-5 or on MyNetworkTV sibling KSMO-TV.

These game-day telecasts will air on Sundays throughout the season, with selected games to be announced at a later date, Gray says.

All 10 games will be broadcast on KSMO, with at least six also airing on KCTV-5.

“Sharing our games, highlighting our world-class athletes, and telling our story to as many people as possible is a top priority for us,” said Royals President of Business Operations Brooks Sherman. “This agreement gives our fans the power to watch however they want, whether that’s on cable, streaming, or local TV. We are thrilled to partner with Gray Media, and know their experience and expertise will be beneficial for both the Royals and our fans.”

Curtis Miles, Vice President and General Manager of Gray Media in Kansas City, added, “KCTV-5, KSMO-TV, and Gray Media are thrilled to bring the Royals back to free, over-the-air television. Gray Media has made significant investments in live sports, and we’re proud to bring viewers what they want.”

In addition to the regular season broadcasts, the Royals and Gray will work together to create ancillary programming.
