The latest installment of the Alliance For Women in Media (AWM)‘s Gracie Interview Series, which puts a spotlight on female media industry leaders who have broken glass ceilings, has been released. And, it features a conversation between two members of the AWM Foundation’s leadership who are on the organization’s Board of Directors.

Streamline Publishing’s Deborah Parenti, President/Publisher of Radio + Television Business Report and Radio Ink, and veteran radio industry programming consultant Mike McVay participate in the latest conversation, recorded May 30 and released June 6 by the AWM.

In the conversation, Parenti and McVay discuss her extensive career as a media executive in radio, “the power and pervasiveness of AM radio,” and the positive influence of mentors and leaders in one’s career path. Furthermore, AWM says, “the discussion provides context and connection to the importance of radio overall, and how it serves communities across the country and worldwide.”

The conversation also features insights on how every professional experience propelled
them into their next position, and a glimpse into the career trajectory and leadership lessons of two radio industry veterans who continue to make a formative impact on the industry.

Parenti first joined Radio Ink as its conference coordinator, and in September 2021 was promoted to her current role as President/Publisher of Streamline Publishing’s media division. With more than 40 years of experience in the industry, Parenti has worked for Beasley Broadcast Group in Philadelphia and such companies as Great Trails Broadcasting in Dayton, Ohio; there, she launched still-successful WWMX “Mix 107.7.” Parenti has also led radio stations in Louisville.

As President of McVay Media, McVay has honed in on four decades of Adult Contemporary radio programming prowess and in recent years served as EVP/Content & Programming for Cumulus Media and its Westwood One national radio arm.
