Radioplayer, the non-profit organization behind the radio station streaming app found in such nations as Canada and the UK that now seeks to grow in the U.S., is partnering with Super Hi-Fi to bring what it calls “next generation radio experiences” to connected cars and devices.

Using Super Hi-Fi’s HLS+ streaming technology, Radioplayer says it can now now offer participating broadcasters the option of enhanced listening experiences for its member automotive and hardware manufacturers.

“Our mission at Radioplayer is to preserve radio’s accessibility and prominence while driving innovation for broadcasters and connected device and vehicle makers” said CEO Yann Legarson. “Super Hi-Fi’s HLS+ delivers on both fronts with its ability to generate premium, interactive radio, enhancing the listening experience for our partners and their audiences. This partnership exemplifies our commitment to innovation and shaping radio into the digital age”

Super Hi-Fi’s HLS+ It combines live, linear radio with interactivity and personalization, all in the same audio stream, while simultaneously ensuring backward compatibility with billions of existing devices and automobiles. “This new capability enables broadcasters to innovate the listening experience in ways not possible until now and for listeners to start enjoying more engaging listening experiences,” the company says.
