With a popular entertainment-focused syndicated morning show from Univision Radio and a mix of local hosts offering spoken word and regional Mexican music, a 5kw Class B AM and its FM translator have served Denver’s Hispanic community as “Qué Bueno.”
Use of the translator came thanks to an arrangement with Vic Michael Jr. Now, that arrangement is ending, in favor of the Spanish-language station.
On Wednesday, an Asset Purchase Agreement was signed and filed with the FCC that seeks consent for the transfer of K249EX at 97.7 MHz from Michael’s Mountain Community Translators to Latino Communications.
This would allow Latino to fully own the FM translator that has rebroadcast its KBNO-AM 1280 since July 26, 2016.
The deal is valued at $50,000, and a $2,000 deposit has been made by Latino.
Further, some $16,800 in “reimbursement payments” provided by Latino to Mountain Community will be credited toward the total.
Latino is led by Zee Ferrufino.
Que Buena airs El Bueno, La Mala y El Feo, a Univision Radio-syndicated morning show.
