Purple Political Programming Debuts In West Palm Beach

PALM BEACH, FLA. — Palm Beach County may be the bluest area of the Sunshine State, but it is also the home of Mar-a-Lago, residence of former President Donald Trump. Now, the northern portion of the county is getting politically purple, courtesy of Matthew Davidge.

Davidge’s Purple TV operation, which airs “snack sized” content targeting television viewers during prime-time who don’t care for commercial breaks on other channels, has launched on WBWP-LD 19.1 in West Palm Beach.

The Roseland Broadcasting-owned station boasts a signal viewable across all of Palm Beach County. Paid programming comprises the bulk of the station’s non-prime time programming skein.

As RBR+TVBR shared last week in an exclusive InFOCUS Podcast interview with Davidge, Purple TV is not a conventional TV watching experience. Rather, PurpleTV more closely resembles an internet feed or social media stream and is being pitched as a place for viewers to perch briefly during commercial breaks on other channels.

“Viewing is designed to be measured in seconds, not minutes,” Purple TV notes.

Further market debuts are on the way.
