Aiir is moving ahead with a full release of software “that helped so many hobbyists, community stations, and broadcasters bring their ideas to life” at no cost to its users.
Chief Operating Officer Dave Brierley-Jones says the chief decision to make the company’s PlayoutONE Standard free is to make Radio “more accessible.” He explains, “Over the years, PlayoutONE Standard has grown into a solid, capable, and surprisingly powerful piece of software. Even as we’ve continued to innovate in other areas at Aiir, I’ve always felt that Standard held a special place. It opened the door for people who simply loved radio and wanted to experiment, create, and broadcast.”
By making PlayoutONE Standard free, “we’re removing one of the biggest barriers for hobbyists and newcomers,” Brierley-Jones adds. “Running a radio station has never been easier or more affordable. Anyone with the passion and curiosity to try can now take their first steps without worrying about cost.”
PlayoutONE Standard will no longer receive updates or support from Aiir. For those using companion apps, Auto Importer and FileCopy can also be used at no cost, with a limit of one job per app.
