The CBS News & Stations operation serving the Steel City has a new VP and News Director, effective today. It puts a three-decade veteran of the station in an oversight role, leading the newsroom’s day-to-day operations, strategy and editorial direction.
Earning the promotion at KDKA-2 in Pittsburgh is Cathy Noschese.
Since her start as an intern in 1986, Noschese has been “an integral part of the newsroom and a pioneer in the media landscape for more than 35 years,” the Paramount Skydance broadcast TV division said. She has worked in nearly every aspect of KDKA’s newsroom, serving as a production assistant, writer, producer, executive producer, managing editor and more recently, assistant news director.
“I am honored for this opportunity to lead this talented newsroom that has been such a meaningful part of my life and career,” she said. “I’m proud of the work we’ve already done and energized by the opportunity to build on that legacy to serve our viewers with the trusted local journalism they count on.”
