NBC w/ 'America's Got Talent' takes Wednesday

From 9-11 p.m. ET, the Wednesday season debut of “America’s Got Talent” (3.7/10 in adults 18-49, 12.6 million viewers overall) grew versus the Wednesday premiere of one year ago by 28 percent in 18-49 rating (3.7 vs. 2.9) and 22 percent or 2.3 million persons in total viewers (12.645 million vs. 10.358 million). 


“Talent” won the time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and most other key categories.  From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Talent” grew by 32 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.1 from a 3.1) and by 21 percent or 2.4 million persons overall (13.5 million vs. 11.1 million).

“America’s Got Talent” is the #1 telecast of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key categories. 

“Talent” won the 9-10 p.m. hour head-to-head versus Fox’s second hour of “So You Think You Can Dance” in 18-49 (with a 3.3 rating that hour vs. a 2.9), total viewers (11.8 million that hour vs. 7.2 million) and other key categories.

“America’s Got Talent” scored NBC’s highest adult 18-49 rating in the time period, excluding sports, since September 16, 2009 and the biggest overall audience in the slot for NBC since September 15, 2010.  Excluding finales, this is the top-rated Wednesday “Talent” since July 5, 2006, during the show’s first season. 
 
From 8-9 p.m. ET, “Minute To Win It” (1.3/4 in adults 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall) clocked its highest Wednesday 18-49 and total-viewer results since February 9.  In the time period, “Minute” ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key categories. 

Versus its prior original in this slot on May 18, “Minute” is up 18 percent in 18-49 rating (1.3 vs. 1.1) and 35 percent in total viewers (4.700 million vs. 3.491 million). 

NBC finished #1 for the night in adults 18-49 and was also #1 outright among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in total viewers, adults 25-54, and other key demos.
