Should Nexstar Media Group be allowed to fully integrate its TEGNA assets with its own broadcast television stations, the company founded 30 years ago by Perry Sook will enjoy a “quadopoly,” if you will, in the Crescent City. With a “hold separate” order forcing Nexstar from having any involvement with TEGNA’s operation — including being barred from its board of directors — any possibility of merging newsrooms in New Orleans is a distant one.
And, that was reinforced on Wednesday with the naming of a new News Director for the TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate in the market.
